Originally crafted in 1996 by Israeli puzzle designer Dan Feldman, the DanLock has been called the best puzzle lock ever made by enthusiasts around the world. It has passed through the hands of engineers, collectors, and curious minds on every continent, and it still surprises everyone who picks it up.

It looks like a normal padlock. It is anything but.

Inside the DanLock hides a sequence of challenges, more like three puzzles packed into one than a single lock. It comes with two keys. The first is trapped by the shackle. The second is, unfortunately, broken. Getting it open is only part of the challenge. Getting everything back to where it started is the other part.

👨👦 The Story Behind the DanLock

Dan Feldman was one of the first puzzle collectors in Israel. He spent decades studying mechanical puzzles and eventually began designing his own, modifying real industrial padlocks from the inside to hide challenges that nobody could see coming.

The DanLock was his masterpiece. Dan passed away in June 2024. His son Boaz Feldman founded Puzzlocks to continue his legacy and carry his work forward.
